摘要： A metal wood golf club head has an elongated, forwardly facing front wall (13) to strike a golf ball, and a hollow body (11) rearwardly of the face plate, the front wall being elongated in a first transverse direction toward a connection for a club shaft, the body having a thin, metallic top wall (14) merging with upper transverse extent of the front wall. The head also includes a first group of narrow, metallic, shock wave distributing dendrites (48 to 51) extending from the front wall generally rearwardly adjacent the underside of the top wall and integral therewith; the dendrites are spaced apart in a transverse direction, the maximum height dimensions of the dendrites below the underside of the top wall being between 0.127 and 0.254 cm (.050 and .100 inches) and the dendrites being downwardly convex in cross-section. A second group of such shock wave distributing dendrites (68 to 72) is also typically provided rearwardly of the first dendrite group, and which extend rearwardly to merge with the head rear wall (15).

In some examples, the weight member may be arranged in a sole of the golf club head and may include ends having different weighting characteristics. The difference in weight characteristics may be due to different materials used to form the different ends, different construction of the ends, and the like. The position of the weight member may be adjusted to alter the performance characteristics of the golf club head. For instance, the weight member may be removed and rotated to position a heavier end where a lighter end was previously positioned.

摘要： Disclosed are systems and methods of adjusting the playing orientation of the head of a golf club. An adjustment to the axis of the shaft in reference to the vertical plane is constrained within minimum and maximum limits, so as to conform to current and proposed changes to the United States Golf Association (USGA) rules of play. The fine adjustment within these constraints cannot be readily made, and all adjustable parts are firmly fixed, so there is no reasonable likelihood of them working loose during a round. The adjustments to the club are designed such that during a stipulated round, the playing characteristics of a club cannot be purposely changed by adjustment or by other means.
