    • The invention relates to a WLL system, which unites the independent networks that access the PSTN (13) and Internet (18) and whose subscriber stations have an a/b connection (6) and an Ethernet interface (8) for direct access to the Internet. Said resources are independent of one another and can be used simultaneously. The network that accesses the Internet constitutes a virtual wireless LAN with a star configuration, which terminates in Ethernets at the base station (1) and subscriber stations (9). Said Ethernets operate independently of one another and are interconnected by a bridge function. The subdivided IP and OA & M data and the POTS signalling are transmitted for each subscriber station by means of a respective common layer 2 connection. Useful data of the POTS connections is transmitted separately as a compressed voice transmission, T.38 fax transmission, or transparent modem transmission of 64kbps with automatic recognition and switching. The system operates with a DS CDM/CDMA sequence and an embedded TDM/TDMA and TDD and can be used in particular when a wired telecommunications infrastructure cannot be achieved in the short-term, cannot be achieved at all, or can only be achieved at great expense.
