摘要： A system (700) manages the operations of an integrated communications provider. One aspect of the system is a work flow engine. The work flow engine decomposes the service model into sub-model components based upon whether crossing of plural networks is appropriate to provide requested telecommunication services and which service providers are available to provide service consistent with the location of the customer. The work flow engine also creates a telecommunications design (713) from the sub-model components based on order rules of the service providers. The system automatically retrieves customer service records (703) and preparing sales proposals based on those records. The system includes a gateway to incumbent local exchange carriers and trading partner (715) service providers. The system incorporates features that automate comparisons between existing services and proposed services, optimizing on-net and off-net services, creation of cutover reports, issuance of service requests to local exchange carriers and trading partners (715), and alarming of failures of confirmations.

摘要： A software-implemented, distributed service integration system which provides an open environment for the development of new services, and their integration with the existing network, with the integration being performed by the service integration system administrator, which is also responsible for the service development. Thus, the procedure of developing and integrating of new services is shorter and cheaper than is common in telephony service integration systems. An example of a new service which is integrated with the existing network infrastructure includes the development by the service developer of a sophisticated billing service that uses a carrier's billing infrastructure. The inventive system also provides, through a modifiable policy defined by the system administrator, service-level control of the packet flow both within the service integration system and between the service integration system and the communications network. The inventive system also provides visibility into the signaling process to services deployed on it, offering direct communication with different protocols such as IP, SS7 etc., by means of network adaptation components.

This architecture allows hotels to migrate from existing premise-based systems for PMS and Call Accounting to a centralized system without the need for replacing the existing PBX system at each hotel premise. An internetwork for providing property management services includes a client network and a service provider network. The client network transmits to the service provider network a call parameter for a completed call. The service provider network preferably determines a cost for the completed call based on the call parameter and transmits the call cost information back to the client network to charge the cost to an account.
