摘要： Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for managing an SSD storage device and storing data of the SSD storage device, to resolve problems in the prior art of highly complex data management in an SDD and different service lives of NandFlash physical pages in a NandFlash physical block. In the embodiments of the present invention, lengths of a user data area, primary metadata, and an ECC code in each storage unit of an SSD storage device are set to fixed values. As a result, a format of data stored in the storage unit is fixed, and the ECC code can also ensure consistency between data in the user data area and the primary metadata at a fixed code rate, so as to ensure correctness and integrity of the data in the user data area and the primary metadata. This simplifies data management, reduces complexity of ECC hardware logic. In addition, a same service life of each storage unit is also ensured because of a same ECC code rate.

The disclosure provides a verifiable, redactable log that contains multiple hash values per entry in order to sever confidentiality of a log from verifiability. Logs may be verified using recalculation of hashes and verification of trusted digital signatures. The log may be divided into segments, each signed by a time server or self-signed using a system of ephemeral keys. Log messages regarding specific objects or events may be nested within the log to prevent reporting omission. The logging system may receive events or messages to enter into the log.
