Eine einfache und betriebssichere Ausführung wird dadurch erreicht, daß der Grundkörper der Einspritzdüse (5) einen Kernteil (10) aufweist, der von einer im wesentlichen rohrförmigen Hülse (11) umgeben ist, daß die Düsenspitze (12) und die Andrückfläche fest mit dem Kernteil (10) verbunden sind, und daß der Kernteil (10) in Längsrichtung elastisch komprimierbar ausgebildet und in der Hülse (11) in Axialrichtung beschränkt beweglich geführt ist.

In the mold of the invention for use in the injection molding of a thermosetting resin, a sprue portion has a bushing construction, and a space (51,52) for flowing a non-liquid cooling medium, such as the air, therethrough is formed between an outer peripheral surface of a sprue bushing (53) and a mold member (7) so as to keep the thermosetting resin in a molten state. Preferably, in order to effectively maintain the temperature of the resin in the sprue portion at a predetermined level, a plurality of recesses and projections (54) are formed at the outer peripheral surface of the sprue bushing (53). Preferably, at least two partition plates (55) are provided in the space to divide the space into sections, extending in a direction of a length of the sprue bushing (direction of flow of the resin), so that the cooling medium can flow from an inlet (58) of the space to a rear portion of the space, and then can reach an outlet (59) of the space. In order to prevent the resin of a relatively low temperature in the resin inflow-side portion from being cooled to be cured, a heat-insulating portion (40) is preferably provided in the resin inflow-side portion of the space to thereby reduce a passage for the cooling medium. It is also preferred that a cylindrical heat-insulating portion (50) be provided at an outer peripheral portion of the space in order to decrease the heat transfer from the mold member.

    • The apparatus of the present invention includes a stationary assembly and a movable assembly. The stationary assembly is comprised of a stationary platen (29) which has a heat plate (31) mounted thereon, a temperature-controlled sprue bushing (19) mounted in the heat plate and a plurality of mold faces (25) positioned on the heat plate surrounding the periphery of the sprue bushing. The movable assembly is comprised of a movable platen (41) which has a heat plate (43) mounted theron and a plurality of mold faces (27), corresponding to, and adapted to be aligned with, the mold faces (25) on the stationary assembly. Means are provided to move the movable assembly into close proximity with the stationary assembly to form partially open mold cavities (23). Means are provided to feed a supply of thermosetting molding material through the sprue bushing (19) into a manifold area and into the partially open mold cavities (23). Means are provided to completely close the mold cavities and place the apparatus in a compression stage. In the compression stage, the manifold area is eliminated by closure of the stationary and movable assemblies. Means are also provided for the subsequent retraction of the movable assembly to allow removal of the molded article and access to the mold area.
