摘要： An over-centred lock arrangement for office forniture units (2) having at least one closable compartment (5) such as a drawer (26, 27) with a mechanism (6) to lock the compartment closed, and a top (3) extending the length of the unit. A primary lock (7) is mounted in the unit, and includes lock tumblers mounted in a plug or cylinder (8) which is rotatable between the locked and unlocked positions. At least one lock slide (43, 44, 90) is slidably mounted in the unit, and reciprocates to shift the compartment lock (6) between locked and unlocked positions. The lock slide is connected to the cylinder by a lock actuator assembly (10) which includes a crank arm (11) connected with the tumbler cylinder (8), and an actuator arm (12) having opposite ends pivotally connected with the crank arm and the lock slide respectively at first and second pivot points (13,14), whereby rotation of the tumbler cylinder (8) reciprocates the lock slide (43, 44, 90). In the locked position, the first and second pivot points (13, 14) assume an over-centred relationship with respect to the axis of rotation of the tumbler cylinder (8), whereby external forces applied to the lock slide in a direction to force the lock open, urge the tumbler cylinder further toward the locked position for improved security, and to prevent damage to the lock tumblers.

At least one of the flanges is resiliently flexible to permit localized, elastic deformation of the flange for inserting and withdrawing the cables from the raceway.

摘要： A furniture glide (1) has a further furniture glide within it and possibly a third glide. The first glide member (10) is made of hard plastic and has a rounded, bottom shoulder (12) surrounding a downwardly opening cavity (11 )therein. Asecond glide member (20) comprises a soft, plastic member seated within the said cavity (11) and projecting a short distance below said rounded shoulder, at least when the glide is unweighted. A third glide member (30) comprises a metal cap which seats over the second glide member (20) and against the first glide member (10) to provide a glide with a metal bottom surface.
A purchaser of an item of furniture such as a chair fitted with such glides may usethe chair as purchased or discard the metal glide member. The chair will then move around less readily. When a person sits in the chair, the soft glide member will be compressed into the recess (11) and part of the weight will be taken by the hard glide member (10).
Two or more chairs or other items of furniture may be positioned alongside one another with the third glide members (20) removed or omitted and the friction between the soft glide members (10) and the floor will render ganging means between the chairs unnecessary.
