    • The invention relates to a photovoltaic module in the form of a laminar structure (10) having a core layer consisting of a solar cell system (22) with an optically active side and a back arranged in a potting compound (20, 24). A first encapsulating layer (E1) is arranged on the optically active side of the solar cell system (22) and a second encapsulating layer (E2) on the back of the solar cell system (22). The potting compound (20, 24) connects the solar cell system (20) to the first and the second encapsulating layer (E1, E2) and the laminar structure (10) has a barrier layer (14) in the form of an inorganic oxide or nitride layer arranged on the side of the second encapsulating layer (E2) facing away from the back of the solar cell system (22), the barrier layer preventing the permeation of water vapor.
