At least two die sets are horizontally slidably mounted to the housing (26) so that the die sets are movable between an extended and a retracted position. In their extended position, the die sets overlay the part (22) to be hemmed so that, upon vertical displacement of the nest (16), a prehem or hem is performed. Conversely, when the die sets are in their retracted position, the nest (16) together with the part (22) to be hemmed is freely vertically movable. A wedge drive member (40) is utilized to simultaneously move the die sets between their extended and retracted positions.

摘要： Apparatus for generating a high pressure water jet is disclosed which comprises a tank (12) which forms a reservoir (14) containing a liquid, such as water. An elongated conduit (18) has one end (20) fluidly connected to the reservoir while a nozzle (26) is connected to the other end (28) of the conduit. This nozzle, furthermore, has an out opening (30) with a cross-sectional area less than the cross-sectional area of the conduit. A valve (22) is connected in series between the conduit and the reservoir, and this valve is movable between an open and a closed position. The reservoir is pressurized to a pressure in the range of 2-20 bar (30-300 psi) so that, once the valve is opened, water flows through the conduit and out through the nozzle as a high pressure and high speed water jet. This water jet can be used, inter alia, to clean industrial parts, such as engine blocks during manufacturing.
