    • An overhead cable protection system comprises a detector and signalling unit (5) adapted to be temporarily mounted on a first pole (1) and comprising a detector switch (22) having a detachable member (10), separation of which from the switch causes the switch to operate. Control means (16) are provided responsive to operation of the switch to trigger operation of audible and/or visible warning signals. The detachable member (10) has a cord (8) secured thereto, a free end of the cord being securable to a second post (2) spaced from the first so that the cord stretches between the first and second posts at a desired safety height limit. Snagging of the cord (8) by a vehicle passing underneath pulls the detachable member from the switch, causing actuation of a warning, preferably remotely from the unit by radio.

    • A gift bag includes a bag body (10) including a front panel (11) and a rear panel (12) to form an interior cavity (101). Each of the front and rear panels includes an inner layer (111,121) and an outer layer (112,122). The inner layer (111,121), which is made of waterproof material, has a decorative pattern provided on an outer surface of the inner layer. The outer layer (112,122), which is made of see-through material for enhancing a virtual effect of the decorative pattern, is overlapping on the inner layer to form a double-wall structure of each of the front and rear panels (11,12). Therefore, the front and rear panels (11,12) not only provide a relatively enhanced strength for carrying a gift inside the interior cavity (101) but also enhance a decorative appearance of the bag body (10) when the outer layers (112,122) are overlapped on the inner layers (111,121) respectively.

    • A combined defence shutter and blind is located in a window opening (2) inwardly of the window (3, 4). The shutter comprises a shutter frame (6) secured in the window opening, and a plurality of parallel blades (7) extending across the shutter frame, each said blade having in cross-section a shape which includes a point at each opposed edge of the blade and having a reinforcing axial member (8) extending therethrough and engaged in respective opposing sides of the shutter frame. The blades (7) are linked together and rotatable such that rotation of one blade induces the other blades to rotate simultaneously between a closed position, in which the blades lie substantially parallel to the window so as to form a continuous shutter, and an open position substantially normal to the closed position. The window has anti-shatter material (10) extending over the entire inner surface thereof, whereby, in the event of an explosion outside the window causing a pressure wave to blow the window inwardly of the building, the window and anti-shatter material contacting at least a portion of a pointed edge of at least one of the blades when in the open position to rotate to the closed position, thereby preventing ingress of the pressure wave and glass from the window into the building.
