    • A boat manoeuvring joystick (2), system (1) and method for manoeuvring a boat. The joystick has a base (21) with sensors (22) arranged for detecting a position (xy) of the manoeuvring stick (3). The manoeuvring stick (3) comprises a first bidirectional control knob (31) and a second bidirectional control knob (33), arranged movably relative each other. The joystick (2) comprises first control sensors (32) detecting a first position of the first bidirectional control knob (31) and second control sensors (34) detecting a second position of the stern control (33) knob. The system (1) comprises a manoeuvring control unit (4) comprising a bow thruster output terminal (71) and a propulsion output terminal (61). The manoeuvring control unit (4) is arranged for receiving position, first and second control signals (22a, 32a, 34a) and calculating a bow thruster signal (71a) and a propulsion signal (61a).A dual mode joystick (2) is also shown.
