摘要： A method of producing a cured coating is described comprising the steps of:

(A) applying a coating composition on a substrate, wherein the coating composition is a curable coating composition comprising:

(1) a polymer comprising functional groups that are reactive with methylol and/or methylalkoxy substituents on the amino nitrogens of an aminoplast curing agent, and
(2) an aminoplast curing agent that includes, as substituents on the amino nitrogens:

(a) a plurality of methylol and/or methylalkoxy substituents, and
(b) one or more substituents that are either non-reactive with the functional groups on the polymer or are reactive with the functional groups at a higher temperature than the temperature at which the methylol and/or methylalkoxy substituents are reactive with the functional groups, and

(B) curing the coating at a cure temperature sufficient to react the functional groups on the polymer with the methylol and/or methylalkoxy substituents, but below the temperature for reaction, if any, between the functional groups and the (b) substituents.

摘要： Amino resins, e.g., urea-formaldehyde and melamine-formaldehyde thermosetting resins, are cured with a latent catalyst which is a thermally-decomposable adduct of an aromatic sulfonic acid (e.g., p-toluene sulfonic acid) and a bicyclic oxazolidines (e.g., 1-aza-3,7-dioxa-5-ethylbicyclo (3.3.0) octane. The coating compositions can contain other conventional co-reactants, such as polyols, polyacids, alkyd resins, polyester resins, epoxies, acrylics and the like. Coatings containing the amino resin, co-reactant, and latent catalyst have an acceptable viscosity stability, cure rapidly at temperatures lower than some other latent catalysts, and produce films with no wrinkles.

摘要： An aqueous composition suitable for coating cans which comprises:

(A) 5 to 60 % by weight of an alkyl-etherified amino resin obtainable from the addition or condensation reaction of formaldehyde with spiroguanamine or a mixture of spiroguanamine and melamine followed by alkyl- etherification of the resultant addition or condensation reaction product, comprising on average at least 3 formaldehyde units per spiroguanamine units, with methanol, ethanol or a mixture thereof; and
(B) 40 to 95 % by weight of an aqueous polyester or acrylic resin having an acid value of 10 to 100 and a hydroxyl value of 10 to 300 and being soluble or dispersible in an aqueous medium in the presence of a volatile base.

Coatings comprising the composition have a high degree of hardness, a low organic solvent content and generate only a small amount of fumes during high temperature baking processes.

摘要： An aqueous composition capable of forming a film having excellent water resistance, high hardness, excellent processability and excellent shelf stability, and the coating composition comprises:

(a) 30 to 65 parts by weight of an aqueous acrylic resin, which is produced by copolymerizing monomers (i) to (v):
