摘要： A nuclear reactor containment vessel (8) has: a primary reactor containment vessel (3) which contains a nuclear pressure vessel (2); a secondary reactor containment vessel (4) and which is disposed outside the primary reactor containment vessel (3) which has the pressure resistant properties and the leak-tightness which are equivalent to those of the primary reactor containment vessel (3); an air bag (5) which is disposed within the secondary reactor containment vessel (4) and which, when a failure occurs in primary reactor containment vessel (3), expands while receiving and encapsulating a high pressure gas discharged from the inside of the primary reactor containment vessel (3); and a gas phase vent pipe (6) which connects the primary reactor containment vessel (3) and the air bag (4).

摘要： If a molten core holding apparatus (core catcher) is disposed below a reactor pressure vessel in a reactor containment vessel, water leak cannot be detected at a pedestal floor. Thus the reactor containment vessel has to be separately equipped with a mechanism for detecting the water leak. A water leak detection floor (11) transversally suspended by a pedestal side wall (22) is installed between a reactor pressure vessel (1) and a molten core holding apparatus (10). If a water leak occurs at the reactor pressure vessel (1), the water leak detection floor receives and detects the leak water. In a core meltdown accident, corium melts and penetrates the water leak detection floor and deposits on the molten core holding apparatus.

摘要： The subject-matter of the invention is an intrinsic-safety nuclear reactor of the pressurized water type, having:
- a reactor vessel (2) equipped with a core (4), a lower header (5) and an upper header (6), at least one heat exchanger (3) with a secondary fluid, means of hydraulic connection (9, 10) between said headers and said heat exchanger and at least one circulation pump (11),
- a pressurized container (1) surrounding the reactor vessel (2) and which defines a tank (5) full of a cold, neutron-absorbing liquid;
- pipes (20) allowing communication between the lower area of said tank and the lower header of the vessel, as well as pipes (21,22) allowing communication between the upper area of said vessel and the upper header, in which the pressure drop in the primary fluid across the core is substantially equal to the difference in head between the cold column of said tank and the hot column of the vessel.
According to the invention, said pressurized container (1) is immersed in a pool (18) containing a neutron- absorbing liquid at atmospheric pressure.
Furthermore, the wall of the vessel (2) is insulated, while the wall of the container (1) has no insulation, so as to achieve the greatest possible heat exchange between said wall and the water of the surrounding pool (18).
