Zum Überführen des Faserbandes hält die Handhabungseinrichtung an der Arbeitsstelle an, das Faserband wird von der Handhabungseinrichtung (13) an der Spinnkanne (9) erfasst und an eine Aufnahmeeinrichtung der Arbeitsstelle übergeben. Nach der Übergabe des Faserbandes (8) gibt die Handhabungseinrichtung (13) das Faserband (8) frei und verlässt die Arbeitsstelle (3) wieder. Nach der Freigabe des Faserbandes (8) wird anhand Sensoren (16, 17) überprüft, ob das Faserband (8) vollständig von der Handhabungseinrichtung (13) entfernt ist.
