摘要： An oven cleaner containing as the active ingredients a non-caustic alkali metal carbonate, sesquicarbonate or bicarbonate and a polyhydric alcohol, preferably glycerol, which is liquid and substantially non-volatile at the desired cleaning temperature and in which the alkali metal salt is soluble at that temperature.
A method for cleaning ovens and cookware comprises applying the oven cleaner according to the invention to the surface to be cleaned and heating the surface to a temperature of at least 125°C for a period of at least five minutes and wiping and/or washing the saponified oils and fats from the surfaces.
Effective oven cleaning compositions having a-pH of 9 or below may be produced using the present invention.

摘要： The levels of iron sulfide present in a conduit, such as a pipeline, are reduced by contacting the conduit, on an inner surface, with a composition obtained from an aqueous solution containing at least one compound of Formula (I) and at least one amine or corresponding ammonium derivative in the presence of a solvent, wherein X is an anion of valency n. Preferably, the pH of the solution is about 8. Alternatively, the method employs a composition comprising tris(hydroxymethyl)phosphine (TRIS) and at least one amine or corresponding ammonium derivative. The amine preferably is ammonia or a primary alkylamine. The compositions readily complex and thereby dissolve deposits of iron(II) sulfide, removing them from the conduit.

摘要： Methods for deoxidizing metallic surfaces are disclosed. Such a method may include contacting a surface of a metal strip (102) with one or more chemical solutions until a potential drop across a thickness of the metal strip (102) is less than a pre-selected value. To process a metal strip (102) such that it may be suitable for fabrication of a bipolar plate for use in a fuel cell, the metal strip (102) may be processed until the potential drop is less than about 15 mV. A surface of the metal strip (102) may be contacted for a first period of time with a first chemical solution having a pH of between 10 and 14. Thereafter, the surface may be contacted for a second period of time with a second chemical solution having a pH of between 1 and 3. A conductive organic coating may then be applied to the surface. Such methods are particularly suitable for use in connection with a coil coating process.
