摘要： A method and assembly (10) for folding carton flaps is disclosed. The assembly includes a modular housing (12) positioned on a framework (22), and a drive gear (26) which moves a drive pulley (28) and a star wheel (29) in a timed relationship with a group of conveyed bottles. Lugs (33) are spaced along an endless lug belt (32). The teeth (86) of a top star wheel disc (84) and a bottom star wheel disc (85) are moved into prescored flap areas of a carton blank to break the flaps open, whereupon lugs (33) of endless lug belt (32) are moved through the prescored flap areas and move the flaps thereof into tangential engagement with the exterior surface of the bottles in the group. The side wall of the carton blank is simultaneously moved toward the bottles by a top guide (90) and a bottom guide (91).

摘要： A method and an apparatus for wrapping an elongated article with using a tranfer printing film (a) are provided. A transfer printing film comprising a substrate film (b1) and a pattern-decorated transfer layer (c) on the substrate film is drawn out from a roll thereof, and fed to a surface of the article which is conveyed horizontally by the convey rollers. The printing film is subject to an adhesive application during the travel to the article on the rollers. A hot melt type adhesive (d) is employed as the adhesive, which type of adhesive can be easily regulated in thickness by an applicator. The printing film (a) adheres to the article by the thick hot melt type adhesive to the article surface, and pressed with heat to transfer the decorated transfer layer (c) with adhesive together integrally. Peeling off the substrate film (b1) finally, a smooth, quality and decrated article with a pattern such as the grain of wood or stone is obtained superior in appearance, because the thick hot melt type adhesion between the transfer layer and the article satisfactorily cover the cracks, flaws, roughness of the article.

The end portions 3 each have an aperture 7 and the end piece 6 has a fold line 8 and tabs 9. To close the end of the carton 1, the end portions 3 a and 3 b are bent towards each other and the end piece 6 is folded up. The tabs 9 are raised to position them ready for insertion and are then inserted with the apertures 7 to hold the carton end 10 in position. To secure the closure adhesive is applied to secure the top portion 6 a of the end piece 6 to the end portions 3 a and 3 b .
