    • An elastic couple barring apparatus is a special tool with a rotor driven by elastic couple, used on the vertical hydroelectric generating set and the axial control center of other transfers. Its structure features are as follows: The upper frame of the driven device is connected to an elastic support which is connected to a shell which is fastened to a cover plate on which are mounted reducing mechanisms and electric motors in symmetric position of 180 degree. The output shaft of the reducing mechanism extends into the shell under the cover plate, and is connected to the small toothed wheel which meshes with the big toothed wheeling. The big toothed wheel is connected to a coupling by a parallel key, and the coupling is connected to the rotor which is the driven device. The advantage of the invention is that the construction is more reasonable, the concentricity is adjusted more conveniently, and the elastic connection makes operation easier and vibration smaller, than before, and distortion caused by cantilever is eliminated, and operation's accuracy and precision are increased because the mesh of toothed wheels runs smoothly.

    • There is provided a plastic molded gear capable of reducing teeth knocking noises due to backlash during engagement. A protruding portion 5 for eliminating backlash is formed so as to protrude from both end portions in facewidth directions on one tooth flank 6 of each tooth 2, and the protruding portion 5 is not formed on the other tooth flank 12 of the tooth 2. If the protruding portion 5 is elastically deformed so as to absorb backlash, the protruding portion 5 has the same plane as that of the one tooth flank 6, and the other tooth flank 12 of the tooth 2 serves as a main power transmission surface. With this construction, the protruding portion 5 elastically contacts the tooth flank of a companion gear engaged with the plastic molded gear, so that the elastic deformation of the protruding portion 5 absorbs rotational energy of the companion gear during intermittent rotation. Thus, when gears engaged with each other collide with each other, it is possible to absorb shocks, so that it is possible to reduce teeth knocking noises.

    • A gear mounting is disclosed for use in a compound change gear transmission (10) having an intermediate wall portion (50), a shaft support portion (66) axially spaced from the intermediate wall portion (50). Disposed axially between the intermediate wall portion and the shaft support portion is a gear member (48). The intermediate wall portion and shaft support portions define aligned shaft bores (92,96) with the shaft member (98) disposed therein, and including retention means (122) to retain the shaft member within the bores. The shaft member defines lubricant passage means (100) permitting flow of lubrication fluid through the shaft and into a set of bearings (64) which receive the forward end of an adjacent countershaft (60). The outer surface of the shaft member (98) defines an inner race for a set of bearings (120) disposed between the shaft and the gear member (48). The disclosed mounting arrangement substantially simplifies and strengthens the mounting of the gear member (48).
