摘要： A safety arrangement for a DME fuel tank of a vehicle, adapted to release an excessive pressure from the fuel tank, including a spring-loaded pressure release valve adapted to open at a predefined pressure level, where the safety arrangement further includes a housing mounted on the fuel tank and having an outer opening closed by a lid, where the pressure release valve is arranged in the housing and where the housing is provided with an outlet pipe having an outlet opening, and where the lid is adapted to melt at a predefined temperature, thereby allowing gas to exit the pressure release valve through the outer opening of the housing when the pressure release valve is open and the lid has melted. A small gas leakage caused by an excessive pressure can be discharged downwards through the outlet pipe and outlet opening towards the ground, and a large gas leakage, caused by e.g. a fire, can be discharged outwards from the fuel tank, away from the fire.

A relief valve can include a flow path, a primary valve poppet (204) that is urged or biased into a closed position by a tensioned spring (216), and a pilot valve (224) in communication with a valve compartment (222) of the relief valve. When an exterior space pressure overcomes the tensioned spring, the primary valve poppet can be overcome and pressure between an interior space (106) and the exterior space (108) can equalize, at least partially. When the pressure within the interior space increases beyond a defined threshold, which can be defined by a spring (234) of the pilot valve (224), the pilot valve can open, the valve compartment (222) can vent, and the tensioned spring (216) again can be overcome and can open to allow at least partial equalization of pressures within the interior space (106) and the exterior space (108).

A filler nozzle seal (32) in the tank filler neck (24) seals about the nozzle during refueling. A recirculation line (50) is connected to the filler neck below the nozzle seal and also to the vapor conduit to the canister. Fuel flow in the filler neck during refueling effects recirculation of some of the vapor flowing to the canister and minimizes the size of canister required.
