摘要： The disclosure relates to a hydrogen-absorbing alloy for a negative electrode comprising: a main texture of Mm-Ni system having a crystal structure of CaCu₅ type; and a plurality of compound phases having a crystal structure other than the crystal structure of CaCu₅ type, where each of the compound phases are segregated in the main texture, and wherein a volume of each of the compound phases is less than about 10 µm³. A distance between two adjacent compound phases should be less than about 100 µm. In the hydrogen-absorbing alloy the compound phases should include an element selected from a group of boron (B), carbon (C), tantalum (Ta), niobium (Nb), titanium (Ti), zirconium (Zr), molybdenum (Mo), tungsten (W) and bismuth (Bi).

摘要： New electrically conductive material suitable particularly for a secondary battery and a process for preparing the electrically conductive material are provided. The process for the preparation of the electrically conductive material comprises the steps of reacting a compound having conjugated double bonds with an oxidizing agent wherein the oxidizing agent comprises a cupric compound and a nitrile compound. The electrically conductive material comprises grainy polypyrrole obtained by reacting a pyrrole compound with an oxidizing agent which is constituted by primary particles having an average particle size of 0.01 to 0.4 µm and has a press molding density of 1 to 1.6 g/cm³.

摘要： In the non-sintered nickel electrode for an alkaline storage battery according to the invention, a yttrium metal powder and/or a yttrium compound powder has been added to a particulate active material comprising composite particles each consisting of a nickel hydroxide core and a sodium-doped cobalt compound shell. Because the yttrium metal powder and/or yttrium compound powder inhibits the diffusion of cobalt into the nickel hydroxide core, the non-sintered nickel electrode of the invention exhibits a high utilization efficiency not only in an initial phase of charge-discharge cycling but over a long time of use. Moreover, because the yttrium metal powder and/or yttrium compound powder enhances the oxygen overpotential, the non-sintered nickel electrode for an alkaline storage battery according to the invention shows very satisfactory charge characteristics particularly at high temperatures.
