摘要： A damp-proof venting device comprising a proximity sensor switch, fan blower, two solenoid valves and a control unit, powered by an external power supply, vents toilet bowl malodour directly into the toilet's sewerage drain, bypassing the toilet's primary water trap via an independent pressure-driven air passage sealed by a secondary independent water trap. Said control unit regulates the operation of venting unit's air blower and two solenoid valves, thus ensuring directionality of displaced air during the venting stage as well as sealing the venting passage after use under all possible circumstances, all in synchronicity with the toilet's engagement by user.
A slight variation of said device allows for retrofitting onto geometry and space-accommodating market-available toilet models.

摘要： An extraction fan system for extracting air from a room comprises a fan 3 having an impeller 5 for extracting air from the room, a motor 7 for driving the impeller, and a controller 9 for controlling operation of the motor. The controller has at least one control input 11 which detects at least one trigger event, and the controller controls the motor normally to operate at a first background speed. Upon detecting a first trigger event the motor is switched off or operated at a second lower speed than the first speed, and upon detecting a second trigger event operated at a third speed (figs 2 - 4). The first and third speeds may be the same (fig 4). The third speed may be higher than the first speed (figs 5 & 6). The motor may operate at the third speed for a predetermined time. The control input may be a light switch, motion, temperature, humidity, gas, noise, light or water flow sensor. The controller may comprise a plurality of control inputs (fig 7). The room may be a bathroom or wetroom. No significant noise is associated with the fan while a person is in the room.
