    • An omni-directional, collinear, vertical base station antenna having an adjustable or variable radiation beam tilt capability. Termination at the drive or feed point is provided by an adjustable, capacitive coupling at the feed point between the conductive elements of a feed structure (20) and a radiator assembly (10) for adjusting the physical position of the feed point and thereby the phase of the feed points relative to the upper and lower portions of the antenna, to alter the deflection angle of the radiation produced.
      Signal feed means, having first and second conductive feed elements (22, 24), is connectable to a signal feed line to couple a signal between the feed line and the radiator assembly. Adjustable support and control mechanism (50) supports said elongated radiator assembly and said feed means for relative movement therebetween to effect selective adjustment of the feed point of said capacitive coupling means along the length of said elongated dipole radiator assembly to thereby effect adjustment of the beam angle of the radiation pattern.

    • An improved radio frequency antenna may be manufactured and assembled in a cost-effective manner using a pair of conductive sections. A first conductive section has alternating wide and narrow portions, and an opposing second conductive section has alternating wide and narrow portions which are arranged opposite the narrow and wide portions, respectively, of the first conductive section. The first and second conductive sections are secured together with a gap formed therebetween such that the first and second conductive sections form an elongated unit having a first end and a second end. Each end of the unit may be terminated using a shorting rod soldered between the first and second conductive sections, and a coaxial cable may be electrically coupled to the first and second conductive sections, near the middle of the unit, for coupling a radio frequency signal to the antenna. Alternatively, the unit may be terminated at only one end, and the other end of the unit may be used for interfacing to the coaxial cable. Further, a radome may be used to enclose the unit.
