摘要： An instrument for measuring the concentration of a living body ingredient based on infrared ray radiated from an eardrum while taking account of influence of thickness of the eardrum of a subject. The instrument for measuring the concentration of a living body ingredient comprises a section for detecting infrared light radiated from an eardrum, a section for acquiring thickness information on the thickness of the eardrum, and a section for operating the concentration of a living body ingredient based on detected infrared light and acquired thickness information. Since influence of the thickness of eardrum of a subject is included in infrared light radiated from the eardrum, concentration of the living body ingredient can be measured with high precision when it is calculated based on the thickness information on the eardrum as well as the detected infrared light.

摘要： The invention provides a device for measuring radiation, as well as a method for measuring with the device, and a controllable lighting system with the device. The device (l') has a side wall (2) with a sensor (5, 5'), a radiation entrance opening (4'), and optionally a top wall (9) and bottom cap (10). The sensor is sensitive only to indirect radiation that is reflected at a reflection area, such as a ring (12a - 12b). The device is not sensitive to dust deposition, because most dust is blocked by the side wall (2), while any other dust will pass the sensor surface and reflection area(s) on air currents parallel thereto, without any deposition of dust or dirt. Hence the sensor will give more reliable measurements, even in dusty environments. The method involves orienting the device with respect to the light to be measured and to possible currents. The controllable lighting system involves measuring light levels with the device, and having a control unit control one or more lamps on the basis of those measurements.

摘要： The invention relates to a method for operating a sensor device for detecting interference on the outside of an optically-transparent body. Such methods and sensor devices are essentially known to the state of the art, serving, amongst other things, for the detection of rain or dirt on the windscreen of a vehicle and, on detection of contamination, to activate a windscreen washing device on the vehicle, in other words, the windscreen wiper and the supply of wiper fluid. Where just rain is detected merely the windscreen wiper without the supply of wiper fluid needs to be activated. The aim of the invention is to further develop such a device to give an embodiment which can trigger a switch function on detection of the movement of a non-transparent physical body within the detection range thereof. Said aim is achieved, whereby internal signals within the sensor device are suitably analysed.

摘要： The present invention provides a system and method for the diffusion of illumination from discrete light sources such that the illumination is blended and directed in one or more desired directions. The illumination system comprises a substrate having a plurality of light-emitting elements thereon which are arranged in an array, wherein these light-emitting elements produce illumination at one or more wavelengths. Proximate to the light-emitting elements is a diffuser, which collects the illumination produced by the discrete light-emitting elements and redirects this illumination in one or more predetermined directions, thereby blending together the one or more wavelengths of illumination and concentrating the illumination in the predetermined directions. The illumination system further comprises a power system, which provides energy to the light-emitting elements thereby resulting in their activation. Through the blending of the illumination produced by the discrete light-emitting elements together with the redirection of the illumination in a desired direction, both of which are enabled by the diffuser placed proximate to the discrete light-emitting elements, the creation of a blended pattern of illumination from these discrete light-emitting elements is provided, wherein this pattern of illumination can be one or more lines or planes of illumination.

摘要： A spectrophotometric system includes a zoom lens assembly that is mounted for axial translation relative to an integrating sphere. The zoom lens assembly includes first and second focusing lens mounted to an axially movable lens carrier. The lens carrier is positioned intermediate first and second sets of mirrors for reflecting/directing SCE and SCI beams toward fiber ports. A reference beam is also emitted from the integrating sphere and transmitted to a processor, thereby resulting in simultaneous tri-beam measurements. The disclosed spectrophotometric systems may also include an aperture plate detection assembly and/or a sample holder assembly that incorporates a dampening gas spring. The aperture plate detection system includes a detection disk that may include a plurality of pre-positioned sensors that interact with an activating ridge formed on the aperture plate for identification thereof.
