摘要： There is disclosed a liquid discharge head comprises a discharge port for discharging a liquid, a liquid flow path with one end constantly communicating with the discharge port and with a bubble generating area for generating a bubble in the liquid, a liquid supply port disposed in the liquid flow path and connected to a common liquid supply chamber for storing the liquid to be supplied to the liquid flow path, a plurality of bubble generating means, disposed in the liquid flow path, for generating the bubble in the liquid, and a plate-like movable member disposed in the liquid flow path with the side of the discharge port supported as a free end at a gap of 10 µm or less with respect to the liquid supply port on the side of the liquid flow path, and provided with a projection area larger than an opening area of the liquid supply port. The discharge port is in a linear communication state with the bubble generating means, and by driving the bubble generating means for generating the bubble with a smallest volume among the plurality of bubble generating means, the movable member seals and substantially shuts off the liquid supply port, which can increase a discharge amount ratio of liquid droplets, equalize liquid droplet discharge speeds, and raise a refill frequency after discharge.

摘要： The invention relates to a recording head and apparatus as well as to a semiconductor chip and substrate usable for the recording head. The substrate comprises electrical contacts for external electrical connection in order to receive image signals used for driving recording elements. A logic circuit converts the image signals which are serially supplied to the electrical contacts into parallel signals to be applied to the recording elements via electrical leads. The electrical contacts, the recording elements, the logic circuit, and selectors for selectively driving the recording elements are built in the substrate. The selectors are disposed in a one-to-one relation with the recording elements, corresponding to the interval of the recording elements.

The free end (6b) of the movable member is displaced toward the discharge port side about the fulcrum portion (6a) of the movable member (6) by pressure produced by the bubble being created to thereby discharge the liquid from the discharge port (5). The movable member (6) is formed of a silicon material and has a bent portion forming the gap, and the fulcrum portion (6a) has a curved surface shape.

摘要： A liquid discharge head comprises a pair of substrates (1,3) mutually fixed in lamination, a plurality of liquid flow paths (70) arranged on the bonded faces of the substrates, the leading end of the plural liquid flow paths being communicated with a plurality of discharge ports (3), a plurality of heat generating members (2) arranged on at least one of the substrates corresponding to each of the liquid flow paths and a movable member (6) having in the liquid flow path the free end thereof on the discharge port side, and a region (10) between the heat generating member and the movable member, where liquid exists. In the liquid discharge head, a bubble is created by enabling thermal energy generated by the heat generating members to act upon the liquid, and the bubble is controlled by the movable member to discharge liquid in the liquid flow paths from the discharge ports to the outside. Further, all of the movable members, members becoming side walls of liquid flow paths, members supporting the movable members, and members supporting the walls of liquid flow paths are formed by materials containing silicon and the side walls of liquid flow paths are formed by patterning the material containing silicon formed on the surface of one of the pair of substrates in the liquid discharge head.
