    • A method and apparatus for conveying multimedia content, as selected by a user (202), from a sending entity (A) to a receiving terminal (B). The content is sent by immediate delivery over IP multimedia if the receiving terminal is compatible with respect to the selected multimedia content. The sending entity checks (204,208) the compatibility of the receiving terminal with respect to the selected multimedia content, and sends an MMS message (212) by deferred delivery including the selected content, if the receiving terminal is found to be incompatible. Thereby, multimedia content can be conveyed by deferred delivery, even if immediate delivery is not possible due to incompatibility of the receiving terminal, without relying on specific solutions in any intermediate network(s).
