    • A clip for bridging a longitudinal gap between a pair of grid tee lengths, the clip having a cruciform shape in plan view formed by a set of four integral legs, one pair of the legs extending along a first line in opposite directions from a center of the clip, and another pair of legs extending along a line perpendicular to said first line in opposite directions from the center of the clip, said legs when oriented for installation having an inverted U-shape cross-section proportioned to fit over a respective one of four intersecting lengths of grid tees having an inverted T-shape with a reinforcing hollow bulb at its upper edge, at least one of said legs having a longitudinally extending fastener receiving slot and other of said arms having locations for receiving respective fasteners, said slot and receiving locations each being arranged to receive a fastener and allow the fastener to be anchored into the bulb of an associated tee, the length of the slot being at least as long as a desired gap between the gapped lengths of grid tees, the remaining arms being arranged to be locked relative to associated lengths of the intersecting tee lengths by fasteners positioned in said locations and received in the reinforcing bulbs of respective tee lengths, said slot being arranged to allow its respective grid tee length to telescope within the associated arm in the event of an unusual force being applied longitudinally to said respective grid tee length.

    • A connector for a main tee of a suspended ceiling grid that has improved self-aligning and connection force properties. The connector has an end tab (21) with a forward portion bent at a lead angle and a receiving pocket (22) with an outwardly flared entrance that, with an opposed identical connector, cooperate to provide smooth horizontal alignment. The end portion, additionally, includes an edge profile that vertically aligns itself with the receiving pocket (22) of the opposed connector. The receiving pocket (22) includes a spring-like resilient wall that limits the assembly force to overcome interference with projecting lock lances even when the connectors are nearly out of dimensional tolerance. The spring-like pocket wall, shape of the lock lance, and reinforcing beads contribute to an improved audible click signaling that a connection has been completed. The lock lance works with a relief groove to augment self-alignment of the connectors.

    • An improved economically produced clean room ceiling tile formed as a composite comprising a base board (13) and a finish coated paper facer (19) laminated to the base board. The base board (13) is preferably made with excess thickness and is machined to a desired caliper. The machined board is sealed with a clay coating (15) and thereafter coated with a water-based adhesive (17). The paper facer (19) is laminated to the board with the water-based adhesive and is finish coated with a water-based wet scrubbable coating (23). The paper facer (19) is easy to laminate, exhibits excellent coverage of surface defects in the base board (13) surface, is fully compatible with the water-based finish coating, and contributes to the sag resistance of the tile.
