摘要： A connector assembly (10) for use with tubular conduits (30) is disclosed which is a male portion (31) that is put into a female portion (12). The male portion (31) makes use of the end of the conduit (30) itself, and the female portion (12) only requires a stepped bore. The seal (50), stabilizing bushings areas (34) and retainer (138) are carried on the male portion. The seal (50) may be retained on the male portion (31) and the connection (10) may be either a quick connect or require a tool to assemble. The connection (10) may seal the highest pressures and withstand very high forces on the male and female portions (31, 12). Also disclosed is the use of this connection in a multiple port device. The connection may be completed in the depth and diameter that is allotted to a "thread-in" or "flare" connection.

摘要： In a method of treating the interior surface of a conduit or a flexible tube the conduit or tube wall is cut open such that its inner side (3) is exposed for surface treatment (4). After the surface treatment the conduit or tube wall is brought back to the original shape with the cut surfaces (18, 20) fixed close to each other. In the case of an elastic tube the tube (1) can, as an alternative, be brought on a core (28) whereupon the tube wall is turned inside out (7) on the core, such that the inner side of the tube wall is exposed for surface treatment. The tube wall is then turned back (8) such that the tube resumes its original shape after which the core is removed from the tube.

摘要： A protector (24) for a segmented anode (22) encircling a pipeline (10), the anode having ends tapered toward the pipeline. The protector comprises a molded in place elastomeric polymeric structure at each anode end, having external shape of the frustrum of a cone the base of which encircles the end of the anode, and the frustrum terminating at the diameter of the pipeline. For forming the protector, a mold is placed on each end of the anode. The proximal ends of the molds are clamped around the anode. The distal ends are clamped around the pipeline. All but one of the gaps are enclosed to form cavities between the anode segments. A mixture of unreacted liquid components of a rapid setting elastomeric polymer is injected into the unclosed gap until the cavities and the unclosed gap are filled. The components are allowed to react until the polymer sets up. Then the molds are removed.

Each end of the casing is sealed to the weight coating on respective pipes, and the casing has at least one port of entry to allow flow of seawater into casing. The inflow of seawater, if combined with a sacrificial anode, prevents corrosion of the bared joint.
