摘要： Mesh bars (35, 283) of a trawl (13, 263) include at least a portion having a corkscrew-shaped pitch which exhibits a hydrofoil-like effect. Such mesh bars (35, 283) are preferably formed from a material having a substantially incompressible cross-sectional shape. By appropriately selecting the lay and leading edge of mesh bars (35, 283), movement of the trawl (13, 263) through the water entrained environment creates a pressure differential and lift across that portion of mesh bars (25, 283) which exhibit the hydrofoil-like effect. The lift thus created increases performance characteristics of the trawl (13, 263) including increased trawl volume, improved trawl shape, and reduced vibration, noise, and drag. Obtaining the greatest improvement of trawls (13, 263) requires controlling a pitch range for twisted product strands (e.g. twisted ropes) (36, 37), and for straps (284) forming mesh bars (35, 283). For straps (284), control of a width to thickness ratio also significantly affects performance of the trawl (13, 263).

摘要： The invention relates to a fishing device (1) with a rigid frame (3) and, on two longitudinal sides (7,7'), at least one sliding member (11,11') for sliding over the seabed. A fish-startling device (22,23,25,26) is located close to a front side (5) of the frame. A fish-collecting part (9), which is situated at a distance of at least a few centimetres above the sliding surface, is situated along a rear side of the frame. The fish-collecting part (9) is provided with a return member (13,13',15,15',17,17') along an opening facing towards the front side of the frame. When the device (1) according to the invention is dragged along the seabed, shellfish and other organisms can pass beneath the device, so that there is minimal interference with the marine environment. Furthermore, the device according to the invention has a selective action, since only flatfish of a desired size are caught. Preferably, a fluid, such as water or air, is fed under pressure into the seabed via the fish-startling device (22,23,25,26), in order to startle flatfish. A fishing boat (32) provided with a fishing device according to the invention comprises a hoisting device (37-42) with two arms (37,39), which are situated apart and are fastened tiltably to the deck. Two haul-in cables (30,31) are connected, on the one hand, close to the front side (5) of the fishing device (1) according to the invention and, on the other hand, to a respective arm (37,39) of the hoisting device.

摘要： A vertical wind tunnel flight simulator comprises a flight chamber wherein a flier may experience a freefall simulation. Airflow to support the flier is induced by fans connected above the flight chamber through a duct. A staging area having openings to the flight chamber is adjacent to the flight chamber. One or two return air ducts are used to return air from the fans outlet to the fans inlet. Opposed louvers are included on at least one duct segment thereby regulating the temperature via forcing ambient air into the simulator. The use of many duct segments having diverging walls adds commercial value to the system by lowering the height. Mounting components on the roof and behind walls creates a spectacular pedestrian viewing scene of people in flight.
