The male profile (16) is engagable with a female profile (20), wherein the female profile (20) includes grooves (38, 48). The grooves (38, 48), attached to each other by a bridge (54), engage the male ribs (26, 32) . With the profiles (16, 20) engaged, the male rib (28) pushes against the bridge (54) and thereby pushes the bridge against the packaging film during attachment such that the profiles (16, 20) are stabilized during sealing to the packaging film. As part of a pre-made zipper (10) , the male rib (28) can be attached to the bridge (54) to form a barrier seal within the zipper (10).

The first and second fins (38, 40) are joined to each other at their respective lower ends. A preferential area of weakness (42) is disposed along or near the juncture of the first and second fins. While the fastener is attached to the first panel (12), the fastener is initially at least partially unattached to the second panel (14) so as to allow the package to be filled with a product via a fill opening (44) between the fastener (24) and the second panel (14).

The closure tape 2 has a mating section 3 comprising the male strip 3a and the female strip 3b bonded separately onto a three-layered base tape laminate 6, 7, 8 with a heat-insulating film 6 as an intermediate layer, the thermally fusible film 7 which is thermally fused and bonded to one side of the heat-insulating film 6 and which can be thermally bonded to the bag 5, and a thermally fused film 8 bonded to the other side of the film 6. The male strips 3a and female strips 3b are extruded onto the surface of film 8 of the base tape laminate. The base tape laminate is then cut along each adjoining male strip 3a and female strip 3b which are then mated with each other and the resulting tape wound up to provide the zipper tape product foe application to a bag.

摘要： A reclosable package is disclosed having a front wall and a rear wall (46,48,80,82). A thermoplastic zipper male base member (16,58) is disposed at a top end of the front wall and a thermoplastic zipper female base member (18,60) is disposed at a top end of the rear wall. The base members (12,14,54,56) each have a profile which extends transversely across the walls. The profiles (16,18,58,60) are each disposed between a product side web (20,24,62,64) and a consumer side web (22,26,66,68). A heat resistant barrier (36,38,70,72) is provided on facing surfaces of the male and female product side webs (20,24,62,64), extending from product side longitudinal edges of the base members (12,14,54,56) toward the associated profiles (16,18,58,60). The male and female base members (12,14,54,56) are heat sealed to the front and rear walls (46,48,80,82), respectively, opposite to the heat resistant barriers (36,38,70,72) which are resistant to heat sealing to each other. The facing surfaces of the consumer side webs (22,26) may likewise have heat resistant barrier layers (40,42), in which case the package is sealed above the consumer side webs (22,26). Alternatively, the facing surfaces of the consumer side webs (66,68) may be provided with peel seal layers (74,76) which fuse together when the consumer side (60,68) webs are heat sealed to the bag walls (80,82), thereby forming a top seal for the package. A zipper for use in the disclosed package is also disclosed.
