    • L'invention concerne un commutateur électrique (100) comportant dans un boîtier (110) un entraîneur (150) adapté à basculer entre deux positions stables, un bouton-poussoir (190) accessible à l'usager adapté à être déplacé entre une position de repos et une position enfoncée, une noix (160), montée pivotante par rapport au bouton-poussoir, apte à agir en basculement sur ledit entraîneur, des moyens d'entraînement (180) pour déplacer la noix conjointement avec le bouton-poussoir, des moyens élastiques de rappel qui tendent en permanence à ramener le bouton-poussoir dans la position de repos et des moyens élastiques de basculement de l'entraîneur.
      Selon l'invention, lesdits moyens élastiques de rappel et lesdits moyens élastiques de basculement sont formés par un unique ressort (170) comprimé entre ladite noix et ledit entraîneur.

    • An electric installation switch has a movable actuating plate (2; 2a, 2b) that covers the front face of the switch and an electric quick make switching element (4) that may be mechanically actuated by the actuating plate. The actuating plate (2; 2a, 2b) is mounted on a parallel arm support (8) that allows it to be moved (5) in an approximately perpendicular direction to its surface (7). The parallel arm support (8) has at least two parallel arms (9, 10) located at different distances (11, 12) from the actuating plate (2; 2a, 2b) and that extend transversely to said direction of motion (5) of the actuating plate. One end (13, 14) of the arms (9, 10) is connected to the base (17) of the installation switch (1) and their other end (15, 16) is connected to the actuating plate. The quick make switching element is designed as a switching rocker (4) alternatively held in both its end positions by a prestressing force. A coupling member (23) facing the switching rocker alternatively engages two points of application of force (26, 27) on the switching rocker (4) associated each to one direction of motion of the switching rocker (4) for reversing it when the actuating plate is pressed. The parallel arm support (8) is preferably made of at least one parallelogram element.

    • A steam sensor for a water boiling vessel consists of a moulded plastics body portion defining spaced-apart pivotal support positions for an overcentre bridge consisting of a bimetal and a trip-­lever pivotally journalled together at the centre of the bridge and each pivotally journalled at its other end in one of the support positions of the moulding. The trip-lever is arranged to perform snap-action movement in response to heating of the bimetal irrespective of the fact that a plain (non-prestressed and non-snap-acting) bimetal is used and can be coupled either directly to a switch sub-assembly in the steam sensor or indirectly via a Bowden cable or the like to a separate switch incorporated in a remote element protector unit. The switch sub-assembly in the steam sensor may be designed to be plugged directly into a socket formed in an element protector unit in which case the switch of the steam sensor is connected electrically in series with a switch in the element protector, and the same electrical arrangement can be obtained with the steam sensor and the element protector spaced apart from each other and interconnected by means of a lead having appropriate plug and socket terminations.
