摘要： A carpet extractor includes a base assembly (1) including a housing (10) which selectively receives a recovery tank (22) for collecting dirty cleaning fluid. A first supply tank (14) for concentrated cleaning fluid and a second supply tank (15) for clean water are mounted on an inverted Y-shaped handle assembly (12). The handle assembly (12) includes a central member (334) with a hand grip (336) at its upper end and two splayed leg members (338,342,340,344), which define a triangular shaped gap therebetween. The two tanks (14,15) are removably mounted in the gap. The cleaning fluid tank (14) is supported on a shelf (346), which spans the gap between the leg members (338,342,340,344). The water tank (15) is pivotally mounted on two projections (374) on the leg members (338,342,340,344) to allow for easy removal and replacement on the handle (12). The arrangement of tanks (14,15) in the gap allows for large capacity tanks, a well-balanced handle (12), ease of removal of the recovery tank (22) without the need for removing either of the two supply tanks (14,15), and ease of refill of the supply tanks (14,15).

The vacuum cleaner (10) has a tank (12) defining an interior having an inlet (24) for receiving liquid material and an outlet (30) for discharging liquid materials, and a vacuum source (16,18) for selectively generating a partial vacuum in the tank interior. The automatic discharge assembly (32) comprises a valve housing (42) defining a liquid discharge path having an inlet (44) adapted for fluid communication with the tank outlet (30) and an outlet (46) for directing liquid material discharge. A pressure-responsive flapper valve (50) is pivotably connected to the valve housing (42), the flapper valve (50) being moveable between a closed position, in which the flapper valve (50) obstructs the liquid discharge path (49), and an open position, in which the flapper valve (50) allows fluid flow through the liquid discharge path (49). The flapper valve (50) moves to the closed position when vacuum is present in the tank interior, and to the open position under a mass force of the liquid material inside the tank (12) when a pressure in the tank interior is substantially the same as an atmospheric pressure outside the tank (12).

摘要： A vaccum cleaner has an electric motor driving an air impeller (74) for creating suction and a pump (120) which draws liquid material through an inlet tube (310) from the bottom of a tank (32) and expels it from the tank. The vacuum cleaner also includes a mechanical shut-off and override assembly that automatically shuts off the motor if the liquid level in the tank gets too high. The user, however, can mechanically override this automatic shut-off in order to continue pumping liquid out of the tank. A priming apparatus is disposed in the tank in fluid communication with the pump, and a valve (58) is selectively actuable to establish a pressure differential across liquid in the priming apparatus to thereby prime the pump (120).

摘要： A suction device for removing liquids from a surface such as a floor. The device includes an air chamber formed from a top and a bottom plate, each of the plates having a respective top and bottom surface. The air chamber is in fluid communication with a fitting adjacent thereto. The bottom plate includes a plurality of holes therethrough. The bottom surface of the bottom plate additionally includes fabric adjacent thereto and feet to hold the bottom plate of the device up off the floor to enable fluid to be suctioned through the bottom plate holes and into the chamber via a conventional source of suction. The device is also arranged to be located beneath an area where fluid is escaping for directly receiving and evacuating fluid that would otherwise fall on the floor.
