According to the invention, said generator is suitable for operation with high fresh steam parameters, such as for example, steam temperatures of approximately 700 °C, with a simple construction and particularly simple assembly, whereby a throughflow segment (22), arranged after the first through flow segment (22), viewed in the direction of flow of the hot gases (H), forms the first evaporator stage (30) for the flow medium (S), such that the injection of particularly cold flow medium (S) can occur in the region of maximum heating.

    • The invention relates to a fossil fuel fired steam generator. The aim of the invention is to provide a fossil fuel fired steam generator (2) with which the combustion chamber (4) can be especially easily adapted to a predetermined performance range and for varying qualities of different fossil fuels (B). To this end, the inventive steam generator (2) has a first combustion chamber (4) and a second combustion chamber (5) which have a respective number of burners (30) for fossil fuels (B).
