    • The invention refers to a valve-gated injection molding system comprising a nozzle body (24), an offset body portion (46c) and a plurality of valve pins (53). The nozzle body (24) having an inlet (26), a plurality of outlets (34), and a melt channel (36) extending from the inlet (26) to the plurality of outlets (34), wherein each end portion (42c) located adjacent to a corresponding one of the outlets, and each end portion is disposed about a first axis (44). The offset body portion is located between the inlet and the end portions of the nozzle body. Each of the plurality of valve pins is associated with a corresponding one of the end portions. Each of the plurality of valve pins being movable to block the flow of melt through each respective end portion of the melt channel in the in the closed position, wherein each of the plurality of valve pins extends along a valve pin axis. Each of the plurality of valve pins extends external to and positioned laterally from the offset body portion along the valve pin axis coaxial with the first axis of the corresponding end portion.

    • A modular hot runner nozzle (16) having a variable length includes a first nozzle portion (18) and a second nozzle portion (20) provided in series between a manifold (12) and a mold gate (25) of an injection molding apparatus. The first nozzle portion and the second nozzle portion (20) having respective nozzle channels for delivering the melt stream from the manifold (12) to a mold cavity (26). A nozzle tip (25) is provided at a forward end of the hot runner nozzle (16). The nozzle tip (25) and the manifold (12) are generally fixed within the injection molding apparatus so that axial thermal expansion is taken up by a telescoping or a slidable connection that is provided between the first nozzle portion (18) and the second nozzle portion (20).
