    • A tray (1) for mounting an electrical or electronic unit is disclosed which tray includes an optical circuit including two light guides, e.g. optic fibres (6; 7), disposed such that, when the electrical or electronic box is correctly mounted on the tray, the optical configuration of said two light guides is in a first state, while when an electrical or electronic box is incorrectly mounted in the tray, the optical configuration of said two light guides is in a second state distinguishable from aaid first state. There may be a mechanical device, e.g. a blade (10; 18). mounted between the light guides so that the device is moved by the action of inserting an electrical or electronic unit into the tray. Alternatively, the light guides may be moved directly relative to one another by the action of inserting the unit.

    • A shock isolation device (10) includes a center section (14) and a pair of end sections (16) which extend in opposite directions out from the center section (14). The device itself is made from a flexible, resilient material such that the center section (14) may tightly engage an article to be supported without further attachment means. The center section (14) may be rectan­gular whereas the end sections (16) may each be generally trian­gular. At the apex or distal point of each triangle (fur­thest removed from the center section) fastening means (26,32,40,42) may be used to attach the shock isolating device (10) to a carrier.
