摘要： A blended yarn comprises 20 to 50 percent by weight of a hygroscopic fiber and 50 to 80 percent by weight of a non-hygroscopic fiber, the yarn having a moisture-absorbing extent at the equilibrium of 15 percent or smaller at 20°c at a relative humidity of 65 % and that of 35 % at 29.5° at a relative humidity of 96 %. It is suitable for clothing having a moisture conditioning. In the examples, the hygroscopic fiber is chosen from polyvinylalcohol and carboxymethylated viscose.

摘要： Soil-resistant carpet yarns are provided by providing yarns coated with a soil retardant, for example, a fluorochemical, and a retaining agent, for example, zirconium oxide. Such yarns when used in the manufacture of carpets retain their soil-resistant properties during the carpet dyeing and finishing operation; the zirconium oxide in some way promotes the retention of the fluorochemical on the yarn.

摘要： A non-water gelling alkylenoxy substituted castor oil having at least one alkyleneoxy moiety represented as -(CH 2 CH 2 O) x (C 3 or C 4 alkyleneoxy constituent)yH wherein x is an integer of from 0 to about 45 and the total -(CH 2 CH 2 0) constituent is not more than about 90, and y is an integer of from about 0.3 to about 10 and the total -(C 3 or C 4 alkyleneoxy constituent) is at least 1 and not more than about 30 is useful as a lubricant for textile materials. Such is accomplished by contacting the textile material with an aqueous admixture containing an effective amount of the alkyleneoxy substituted castor oil so as to provide from about 0.5 to about 5 weight percent of the castor oil constituent on the textile material.
