    • A grommet (1) is mounted on a panel (2) of an automobile. The grommet (1) includes a tubular body (4), a fitting portion (5), a flange portion (6), projected portions (10), and a lip (7). A wire harness is passed through the grommet body. The fitting portion (5) is formed at an end of the grommet body (4), and is fitted in a hole (3) in the panel (2). The flange portion (6) includes a pair of straight portions (8), and a pair of arcuate portions(9). The pair of straight portions (8) are spaced from each other in parallel. The pair of arcuate portions (9) interconnect the pair of straight portions (8). The projected portions (10) project outwardly from the straight portions (8), respectively. The lip (7) is formed at an outer peripheral edge portion of the flange portion (6), and when the fitting portion (5) is fitted in the hole (3), the lip (7) is held in contact with the panel (2).

    • The invention relates to a clamp comprising a first C-shaped jaw (10) having first and second limbs (14,19) and an interconnecting bight portion (18). A second jaw (12) is mounted pivotably to the second limb, and a releasable ratchet-and-pawl arrangement (44,24) is provided for locking the second jaw relative to the first jaw in a number of degrees of closure. A finger-actuable tab (38) is provided on the pawl (24) for releasing the pawl (24) from the ratchet (44) and allowing bidirectional pivoting of the second jaw. The first limb is provided with a circular aperture (16) and the second jaw is arranged to urge material to be clamped between the first and second jaws through the aperture, so as to increase the effectiveness of clamping. The material which has passed through the cavity also serves as a cushion. The clamp is particularly suited for use as a diaper clamp.

    • A clamp for fixing a plant stem to a support wire includes a movable clamp member (10), a fixed clamp member (20), a support shaft (1) and a spring (2) attached to the movable and fixed clamp members (10, 20). Each of the movable and fixed clamp members (10, 20) has a semicircular beak (11, 21) at its one end and an operating member (12, 22) at its other end. The fixed clamp member (20) has an intermediate body portion (23) provided with a support slot (24) for accommodating an intermediate portion (13) of the movable clamp member (10). The support shaft (1) pivotally attaches the intermediate portion (13) accommodated in the support slot (24) to the fixed clamp member (20). The spring (2) applies a biasing force causing the two beaks (11, 21) to close onto each other in the manner of a ring and the two operating members (12, 22) to open in a V-like manner. The body portion (23) is provided with slits (25) extending part way along the floor (24') of the support slot (24) from the beak (21) in the direction of the operating member (22). A notch (26) opening toward the movable clamp member (10) is provided in the floor of the support slot (24) at the location of the inner end of the slits (25). A protrusion (14) is provided on the intermediate portion (13) for invading the notch (26) when the two beaks are closed under the force of the spring (2) and withdrawing from the notch when the two beaks are opened by a force overcoming the force of the spring.

    • A variety of passive intragastric implant devices for obesity treatment are disclosed. Such passive implants do not autonomously change shape, but instead react within the stomach to induce satiety. The implants may take up volume within the stomach, thus reducing the digestive capacity. Additionally, the implants may contact areas within the stomach, such as the cardia surrounding the esophageal sphincter, to stimulate satiety-inducing nerves. Also, a number of implants slow gastric emptying by blocking or otherwise impeding flow through the pyloric sphincter. Other implants delay digestion by providing a duodenal sleeve. A number of implants combine two or more of these satiety-inducing features. Methods of implant are disclosed including compressing the implants within a delivery tube and transorally advancing the implants through the esophagus to be deployed within the stomach. Removal of the implants occurs in the reverse.
