摘要： In a print system for causing a printer to print an image on the basis of image data supplied from a portable communication apparatus by direct communication between the portable communication apparatus and the printer, the print function of the printer is obtained. When print conditions input by using the UI of the portable communication apparatus cannot be implemented by the print function of the printer, the portable communication apparatus requests a server to execute corresponding processing. A result processed by the server is received, and the printer is caused to print the image.

摘要： This invention relates to an imaging apparatus and an imaging method for supplying an optimum amount of image data to another apparatus. When a PDA 91 has a maximum transfer rate of 1.5 Mbps, a mobile phone 1 determines that a maximum speed of communication with the PDA 91 is low, reduces accordingly the amount of moving image data captured by a CCD of the mobile phone, and supplies the captured moving image data to the PDA 91. The PDA 91 displays a low-quality moving image 93 on its display unit. When the PDA 91 has a maximum transfer rate of 480 Mbps, the CPU of the mobile phone leaves unchanged the amount of moving picture data captured by the CCD and supplies the captured moving image data to the PDA 91. The PDA 91 then displays a high-quality moving image 94 on the display unit. This invention applies advantageously to digital cameras.

Image data provided from an external source produce an image having the same quality as an image produced from image data inside the image information apparatus. This is realized by a data format conversion unit converting the image data in a first data format provided by the external source to a second data format that is used by the image formation apparatus. In addition, a halftone process is performed. The image data are received from the external source, such as a PC, through a network interface control unit, and held by a storage unit.

A header analyzing unit analyzes a header portion of the received electric mail so as to obtain a sender ID. Next, a transfer determination unit matches the obtained sender ID and a content of a sender ID column of a transfer management table. When a match is found, the transfer determination unit reads a content of a transfer destination ID column corresponding to the sender ID column in the transfer management table and a content of a transfer attribute column. An appended file portion is deleted from the electric mail in accordance with the content of the read transfer attribute column, "deletion process." Thereafter, the electric mail from which the appended file portion is deleted is transferred to a transfer destination registered in the read transfer destination ID column.
