摘要： A facsimile machine (20) has a calling-side/called-side judging unit (14) for judging whether the facsimile machine is a calling side or a called side, a handset (7) for sending and receiving sound through a communications network, a speaker (5) capable of outputting a ring tone for calling up the operator while converting electric signals supplied from the communications network into sound and outputting the sound, and a control unit (1) for controlling the speaker and the handset so as to selectively cause signals supplied from the communications network to be converted into sound and outputted by the speaker after the facsimile transmission or cause a ring tone to be outputted by the speaker after the facsimile transmission, depending on judgment by the calling-side/called-side judging unit. With this arrangement, the facsimile machine is capable of smoothly switching to telephone communication after facsimile transmission without disconnecting from the communications network.

A preferred embodiment of the present invention is comprised of the facsimile device (3) which is capable of being connected to a facsimile transceiver (1) and a computer (2). The facsimile device (3) allows the computer (2) to print data on the facsimile transceiver (1) using the facsimile device (3). Similarly, a document scanned on the facsimile transceiver (1) can be communicated to the computer (2) by the facsimile device (3). 摘要： Disclosed is a facsimile apparatus equipped with an automatic answering telephone function, as well as a communication method in this apparatus. When a tone signal from a line is detected after the start of storage of a voice message in response to an incoming call, the voice message presently being recorded is not counted as a received message and a voice message received next is stored in the area in which storage has just been performed. Further, when a DTFM signal, which is a control signal of the automatic answering telephone, is detected, a transition is made to facsimile communication in response to a CNG signal. Thus, erroneous operation in facsimile communication due to a CNG signal recorded in the automatic answering telephone is prevented.

摘要： A facsimile system with the body thereof usable as a subunit of a cordless telephone is disclosed. A parent unit (502) is connected to the telephone line. A facsimile subunit (508) is connected by radio to the parent unit. A telephone subunit (504) is also connected by radio to the parent unit. A circuit (11) included in the parent unit detects a signal indicating that the other party is in facsimile transmission mode. When a call signal is detected from the telephone line, the parent unit connects the line. When a CNG signal is detected, on the other hand, the parent unit connects the facsimile subunit by radio. In the case where a CNG signal is not detected, the parent unit starts the ring-up tone on the telephone subunit. An AGC circuit (1101) and a voice mute circuit (1701) are included in the parent unit.
