摘要： An embedded geometrically variable filter underdrain header and a method for constructing such a filter. Often the variation is a decrease in cross section along the header from the backwash media source, which avoids a pressure loss as liquid is diverted to the laterals along the header. The header is formed inside a filter underdrain basin and is embedded in the basin. The method for constructing the basin and header includes providing a mold for the basin and the header and filling the molds with concrete by pouring concrete into the area between the interior of the mold for the basin and the exterior of the mold for the header. After the concrete cures, the mold for the basin may or may not be removed, while the mold for the header is kept in place.

摘要： A liquid filtration system comprises a first chamber and a second chamber, the first chamber defined by a receptacle containing a particulate media. The receptacle is located in the second chamber and has an aperture to facilitate fluid communication between the first and second chamber. The system further comprises at least one fluid inlet for introducing a fluid to agitate media in the receptacle. Advantageously the system prevents over time, the displacement of the particulate media along a given flow path thus channelling is prevented and filtration of the liquid is maintained.

摘要： Stable performance over time by a screw conveyor 32 of a filtration device 1 is ensured and looseness thereof is prevented, by automatically compensating for frictional wear of an axial support section 60 of the screw conveyor 32, without repairing or replacing worn parts. 摘要： The invention concerns a filtering method which consists in filtering the flow (Q) of the liquid to be filtered brought into contact with the surface (S2) of a filtering medium before passing right through said medium. The invention is applicable to surface water filtering.

摘要： An apparatus and method for gas backwashing a granular media supported upon a lateral underdrain is disclosed. The lateral underdrain includes a plurality of dispersion apertures therethrough and at least one liquid return conduit extending to a discharge at a level below the dispersion apertures. 摘要： Air grid systems for distributing a gas within treatment systems such as underdrain filters and contact clarifiers is disclosed. The air grid is supported from above so that it can be lowered into position and thus modified or repaired. Additionally, this feature permits retrofitting an air grid into an existing system, such as an underdrain filter, in which the bed of media overlying the underdrain is not upset by the installation. Thus, methods of installing or retrofitting air grid systems are also disclosed. In another aspect of the present invention, the air grid is comprised of an air manifold connected to air laterals by a spreader conduit that is inserted through a smooth bore in the walls of the manifold, thereby providing a simple and easy to manufacture structure that avoids problems found in prior art components.
