    • The trip mechanism makes it possible, by means of an appropriate fire selector, to fire either a single shot or controlled bursts comprising three or more shots every time the trigger of the firearm is pulled. It can be fitted to any firearm. The mechanism comprises a ratchet wheel (3) pivoted on the receiver (4) of the firearm and having a plurality of trip teeth (24), (25), (26) corresponding to the number of shots to be fired with a burst, adapted to engage a trip tooth (27) carried by the trigger (1). The ratchet wheel (3) is also provided with a corresponding number of lugs (28), (29), (30) adapted to engage a tongue (31) pivoted on the bolt (2) by means of a pin (32). A bolt stopping element (2) pivoted on the receiver (4) of the arm has a first trip tooth (19) adapted to co-operate with a catch (20) on the boh (21) and a second trip tooth (13) disposed at an end of an arm (9) pivoted on the trigger (1) and biased by a spring (10) with its other end againstthe pin (5) ofthetrigger (1). This pin has a flat section (6) and is connected to a control member (7) exterior to the arm by means of which the pin (5) can be brought from a position in which it abuts the arm (9) by means of its cylindrical surface to a position in which it abuts the arm (9) by means of its flat section (6).

    • In a bolt assembly for inertial operating automatic firearms using the kinetic recoil energy, of the type comprising a locking bolt head and a floating bolt element with a spring interposed between them, the locking bolt head is a rotatable head having a cylindrical portion (1) and a shank (2) narrowed with respect to the cylindrical portion.
      The cylindrical portion (1) has two radial crescent shaped diametrically opposite projections (6), (7) adapted to enagge each an associated groove (12), (13) provided in the barrel (9) and to disengage therefrom by passing through two associated recesses (10), (11) having a shape corresponding to that of the two crescent shaped projections (6), (7) of the head.
      The shank (2) of the locking bolt head is received in a cylindrical bore (21) of the floating bolt element (19) and engages by means of a pin (5) projecting therefrom a helical slot (20) of the floating bolt element (19).
      interposed between the shank (2) of the rotatable locking bolt head and the floating bolt element (19) is a spring (30).
      When the arm is locked the projections (6), (7) of the cylindrical portion (1) of the locking bolt head are in the associated grooves (12), (13) of the barrel (9).
      At firing, at the beginning the floating bolt element (19), because of its reaction to the recoil of the arm, advances and compresses the spring.
      Immediately after the spring (30) spreads out and causes the floating bolt element (19) to move back which unlocks the rotatable locking bolt head and causes the pin (5) to slide in the helical slot (20) thus disengaging the rotatable locking bolt head from the barrel (9) and causing the projections (6), (7) of the cylindrical portion (1) of the head to pass through the two recesses (10), (11) of the barrel (9).
      The arm is thus open and reloads itself automatically in a conventional manner.

    • A self-actuating firearm (1) comprising a frame, a breechblock (9), a barrel (3) provided with a bore (5), a cylinder (13) which is associated with the barrel (3) and forms an internal chamber (11) which is connected to the bore (5) of the barrel (3), by means of a gas tap (15), and a piston (19) which is at least partially accommodated in the chamber (11) and can be actuated by the gases that arrive from the bore (5) upon firing. The piston (19) floats with respect to the cylinder (13) and the frame and comprises a portion which external to the cylinder (13) and is adapted to act with an impulsive action on the breechblock (9) in order to recock the firearm (1) upon firing.
