The cleaning device does not need any pumping or other displacing means for the cleaning liquid, so that the risk of obstructions in the cleaning device by accumulating dirt and debris is considerably limited. Preferably the shaving head comprises at least one rotating cutting unit which is able to provide a sufficient pumping effect for the cleaning liquid when the shaving head is immersed in the cleaning liquid.
