    • A cutting element (50) having a front face (52T), an opposite rear face (52B) and at least one side (52S) face extending therebetween, and comprising a cooling cavity (60) defined by a cavity surface. The cutting element (50) comprises at least one shell-like cutting zone defined by an external surface (54, 56, 58) and an internal surface. The external surface (54, 56, 58) is constituted by a cutting edge (54) defined at the intersection between the front face (52T) and the at least one side face (52S) and corresponding rake (56) and relief (58) surfaces constituted by portions of the front face (52T) and at least one side face (52S) respectively. The internal surface is constituted by a portion of the cavity surface (60), wherein the maximal distance between the cavity surface (60) and the external surface (54, 56, 58) at the cutting zone is considerably smaller than the distance between the front face (52T) and the opposite rear face (52B). The cooling cavity (60) is configured for receiving therein a cooling fluid for cooling the inner surface and thereby withdrawing heat from the cutting edge (54).

    • A cutting tool comprising a cutting tool holder and a cutting insert adapted to be mounted thereon. The tool holder comprises an insert seat defined by a base and at least one side wall extending from the base to define an insert seat space adapted to receive therein the insert. The seat comprises a support element extending into the insert seat from the base, and a fastening member engageable with the seat. The fastening member is displaceable with respect thereto between a mounting position adapted to allow the insert to be mounted onto the seat and a securing position adapted for securing the insert within the seat. The insert is formed with a securing cavity and when the insert is mounted onto the tool holder and is in the securing position, a portion of the support element and the fastening member is received within the cavity of the insert.

    • An attachment arrangement comprising a first member adapted for securely attaching thereon a second member having a top face, a bottom face and formed with an second member bore having an inner surface extending between the top and the bottom face. The first member comprises an attaching portion defined by a bottom surface and at least one side wall angled to the bottom surface, an attaching portion bore with a bore axis having an open end at the bottom surface of the attaching portion, and a securing mechanism for securing the second member in the attaching portion. The securing mechanism comprises a securing pin received within the attaching portion bore and having a body with an outer surface extending between a proximal end and a distal end of the body and defining a pin axis therealong. The securing mechanism further comprises a displacement arrangement adapted for axially displacing the securing pin along the bore axis of the attaching portion bore between at least a first, attaching position in which the distal end protrudes from within the attaching portion bore through the bottom surface into the attaching portion to a first extent so as to allow the second member to be placed within the attaching portion, having its bottom face aligned against the bottom surface, and a second, securing position in which the distal end protrudes from within the attaching portion bore through the bottom surface into the attaching portion to a second extent, greater than the first extent, so as to engage the inner surface of the second member bore, thereby securing the second member in place.
