    • A plasma display panel exhibiting a stabilized address characteristic. Partition walls (10) comprise longitudinal wall parts (10a) that extend orthogonally to scanning electrodes (6) and to maintaining electrodes (7) on a front surface substrate (1); and latitudinal wall parts (10b) crossing the longitudinal wall parts (10a), defining cell spaces (11) and also defining gap parts (13) between the cell spaces (11). A priming electrode (14) is formed for causing a discharge to occur, between the front surface substrate (1) and a back surface substrate (2), in the spaces of the gap parts (13). The scanning electrodes (6) and priming electrode (14) are used to provide a stable priming discharge without fail, thereby reducing the discharge leakage during addressing so as to stabilize the address characteristic.
