    • The printer (410) comprises a transfer member (494) which is driven along a continuous path and means (412) for depositing a toner image (416) in powder form on the transfer member (494). A substrate (428) is fed into contact with the transfer member (494), whereby the toner image (416) is transferred to the substrate (428). The toner image (416) on the transfer member (494) is heated in advance of the transfer and the transfer member (494) is cooled following the transfer to a temperature below the glass transition temperature T g of the toner, prior to the deposition of further toner images on the transfer member (494). A pressure roller (432) is positioned in opposition to the transfer member (494) to form a transfer nip (426) therebetween, through which the substrate (428) passes, the substrate (428) wrapping partially around the pressure roller (432) both in advance of and following the transfer nip (426). The temperature of the pressure roller (432) is controlled to control the temperature of the substrate (428) as it passes through the nip (426).

    • An electrostatographic printing process is described for forming one or more colourless toner images in combination with at least one colour toner image produced in an electrostatographic way on a receptor element (12). The information for producing at least one electrostatic latent image corresponding with said colourless toner image(s) derives from a digital electrical signal representing (i) the spatial boundaries of said colourless toner image and (ii) the amount of deposited colourless toner per pixel. Said process comprises the step of conveying said receptor element (12) past one or more toner image-producing electrostatographic stations (A, B, C, D). At each image-producing station the following operations are carried out:

      forming each electrostatic latent image on a rotatable endless surface means (26);
      depositing toner on said electrostatic latent image to form a toner image on said rotatable surface means (26), and
      transferring each toner image from its corresponding rotatable surface means (26) onto said receptor element (12).

    • A cleaning device (1) is described being part of a copying or printing system for removing residual developer from the surface of an image-delivering member (5). The device (1) comprises a cleaning brush (2) in rolling contact with the surface of the image-delivering member (5) for removing residual developer therefrom, the cleaning brush (2) being rotatable in a first predetermined direction. A collecting roller (4) is in rolling contact with the revolving brush (2), the collecting roller (4) being rotatable in a second predetermined direction. Means for biasing the collecting roller (4) are provided to generate an electrical field which attracts the residual developer from the cleaning brush (2) and collects it onto its surface. A cleaning blade (7) has a forward end portion in frictional contact with the collecting roller (4). The cleaning blade (7) is in contact with the collecting roller (4) at a contact position where the collecting roller (4) is moving in an upward direction, the cleaning blade (7) being mounted such that the contact angle (8) is less than 90 degrees. Also disclosed is a method for removing developer from a surface of an image-delivering member (5).

    • A fixing device and method for transfusing toner on a receptor material (58) is disclosed. Particularly, the fixing device comprises a heated transfuse member (50) having an outermost layer of a material selected from the group of polyorganosiloxanes, fluorosilicones, fluoro-elastomers, phenylsilicones, and mixtures or hybrid compositions thereof. In operation, this outermost layer releases an amount of release agent corresponding to an amount of release agent of 0.05 mg per printed side of A4 paper or below, measured on NopaColor 100gsm paper at an operating temperature for the transfuse member of 120 degrees Centigrade. Preferably, this outermost layer has a peel force, being measured according to Finat No. 3, with tape TESA 4163 at a peeling speed of 30 cm/min, above 7 N/m.
