摘要： A method and apparatus is described which provides reliable multicasting in a WLAN. The use of at least two distinct MAC multicast addresses are used to separate the first multicast frame transmissions from subsequent multicast frame re-transmissions. Thereby enabling legacy devices to ignore duplicate retransmitted multicast fames, because the duplicate frames are sent using a multicast address they do not listen to. Thus, the legacy devices are not confused with duplicated frames. In addition, new devices benefit from the retransmissions sent on the second multicast address and can re-order the frames before delivering to the applications or upper layers; thereby improving the QoS for the multicast.

The database may be configured to receive a plurality of parameters to be used for operation of the encoder module. The encoder module includes an encoder configured to be initialized based on the plurality of parameters from the database. When invoked, the encoder may rely on the database to initialize rather than performing measurements on the current signal that is to be encoded. In one aspect, the apparatus may be an access terminal that can seamlessly switch between different domains, different networks, different base stations, and different access points.

摘要： Broadcast or multicast traffic is classified into different types of traffic and different transmission schedules associated with each of the different types of traffic. The different types of broadcast and multicast traffic may be implemented in an 802.11-based system where an access point is configured to classify broadcast and multicast traffic into different types and assign different transmission schedules to each of the different traffic types. An associated wireless station may thereby wake from a power save mode only at intervals corresponding to delivery times of the types of traffic that the wireless station has elected to receive. In some aspects the different types of broadcast and multicast traffic may comprise user plane traffic and control plane traffic.

In another aspect, a guard interframe spacing may be introduced between frames transmitted from different sources, or with substantially different power levels. In another aspect, a single preamble is transmitted in association with one or more frames. In another aspect, a block acknowledgement is transmitted subsequent to the transmission of one or more sequential frames.

摘要： Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) configurations that enable uplink transmissions during different transmission time intervals (TTIs) may be used. For example, a base station may configure SPS for a set of TTIs, where the configuration may include a periodicity between shortened TTIs (sTTIs) (e.g., two-symbol, three-symbol, seven-symbol TTIs, etc.) that may be used by a user equipment (UE) for uplink transmissions. The base station may signal the SPS configuration to the UE, and the UE may then identify locations of TTIs for use in SPS transmissions. For instance, the UE may identify the location of a set of sTTIs that are designated for SPS and that occur at a certain periodicity indicated by the configuration. Upon identifying the TTI locations, the UE may transmit uplink data during one or more of the identified TTIs in accordance with the periodicity.
