摘要： An apparatus for use with a neutron source for producing reaction-product nuclei from reactant nuclei includes a plurality of reactant nuclei and a plurality of moderating nuclei. The reactant nuclei and the moderating nuclei are configured to increase the probability of neutron capture by reactant nuclei to achieve enhanced ratios of neutron capture by reactant nuclei to neutron source neutron production. Moderating nuclei and neutron reflection are used to minimize neutron leakage. Temperature control, including cryogenic temperature control, may be used to enhance the rate or probability of reactant nuclei neutron capture. The reactant nuclei may include molybdenum-98 and reaction-product nuclei may include technetium-99m.

摘要： A semiconductor includes first quantum dots and second quantum dots of a lesser amount, which are dispersed throughout the first quantum dots. The second quantum dots have a different size or composition than the first quantum dots such that the second quantum dots have a first exciton peak wavelength longer than a first exciton peak wavelength of the first quantum dots. The quantum dot layer includes a valence band, a conduction band, and an intermediate band having an energy level within a bandgap between the valence band and the conduction band. The quantum dots may be solution processed. The semiconductor may be utilized to form an electronic heterojunction, and optoelectronic devices including the electronic heterojunction.

摘要： A mixed salt composition adapted for use as a sorbent for carbon dioxide removal from a gaseous stream is provided, the composition being in solid form and including magnesium oxide, an alkali metal carbonate, and an alkali metal nitrate, wherein the composition has a molar excess of magnesium characterized by a Mg:X atomic ratio of at least about 3:1, wherein X is the alkali metal. A process for preparing the mixed salt is also provided, the process including mixing a magnesium salt with a solution comprising alkali metal ions, carbonate ions, and nitrate ions to form a slurry or colloid including a solid mixed salt including magnesium carbonate; separating the solid mixed salt from the slurry or colloid to form a wet cake; drying the wet cake to form a dry cake including the solid mixed salt; and calcining the dry cake to form a mixed salt sorbent.
