摘要： A heat treatable coated article including an infrared (IR) reflecting layer (e.g., of or including Ag), the coated article being able to attain a ΔE* (glass side) no greater than about 3.0, more preferably no greater than 2.5, and even more preferably no greater than 2.0, following or due to heat treatment (e.g., thermal tempering). Accordingly, low-E (i.e., low emissivity) coated articles of certain embodiments of this invention appear from the glass side thereof visually similar to the naked eye both before and after heat treatment. Coated articles herein may be used in the context of insulating glass (IG) window units, vehicle windshields, or any other suitable applications. In certain embodiments of this invention, an exemplary layer stack includes: glass/Si 3 N 4 /NiCr/Ag/NiCr/Si 3 N 4 . Other materials may instead be used without departing from the scope and/or spirit of the instant invention which is a low-E matchable product.

摘要： Substrates have a hydrophobic surface coating comprised of the reaction products of a chlorosilyl group containing compound and an alkylsilane. Most preferably the substrate is glass. In one embodiment, highly durable hydrophobic coatings may be formed by forming a silicon oxide anchor layer or hybrid organo-silicon oxide anchor layer from a humidified reaction product of silicon tetrachloride or trichloromethylsilane, followed by the vapor-deposition of a chloroalkylsilane. Such a silicon oxide anchor layer will advantageously have a root mean square surface roughness of less than about 6.0 nm and a low haze value of less than about 3.0 %. Another embodiment includes the simultaneous humidified vapor deposition of a chlorosilyl group containing compound and a chloroalkylsilane. In preferred embodiments, the simultaneous vapor deposition onto a glass substrate of silicon tetrachloride and dimethyldichlorosilane results in a hydrophobic coating comprised of cross-linked polydimethylsiloxane, which may then be capped with a fluoroalkylsilane. The cross-linked polydimethylsiloxane layer may be formed on the surface of the glass substrate, or a silicon oxide anchor layer may be deposited under the cross-linked polydimethylsiloxane layer.

摘要： A transparent conductive oxide (TCO) based film is formed on a substrate. The film may be formed by sputter-depositing, so as to include both a primary dopant (e.g., Al) and a co-dopant (e.g., Ag). The benefit of using the co-dopant in depositing the TCO inclusive film may be two-fold: (a) it may prevent or reduce self- compensation of the primary dopant by a more proper positioning of the Fermi level, and/or (b) it may promote declustering of the primary dopant, thereby freeing up space in the metal sublattice and permitting more primary dopant to create electrically active centers so as to improve conductivity of the film. Accordingly, the use of the co-dopant permits the primary dopant to be more effective in enhancing conductivity of the TCO inclusive film, without significantly sacrificing visible transmission characteristics. An example TCO in certain embodiments is ZnA10x:Ag.

摘要： A coated article is provided which may be heat treated (e.g., thermally tempered) in certain instances. In certain example embodiments, an interlayer of or including a metal oxide such as tin oxide is provided under an infrared (IR) reflecting layer so as to be located between respective layers comprising silicon nitride and zinc oxide. It has been found that the use of such a tin oxide inclusive interlayer results in significantly improved mechanical durability, thermal stability and/or haze characteristics. In certain example embodiments, a zinc oxide inclusive layer is provide over an IR reflecting layer in order to improve thermal stability. A zirconium oxide overcoat may also be provided in certain example instances.
