    • A current reference generator to control a brushless motor in a motor control system is provided. The current reference generator includes a locate peak torque module that determines a maximum possible torque and a direct axis current that corresponds to the maximum possible torque based on motor parameters, a maximum voltage, a motor velocity of the brushless motor, and a sign of a torque command. A limit torque command module limits the torque command to the maximum possible torque. A locate minimum current module determines a value of the direct axis current that results in a minimum motor current. A solve current reference module generates a reference vector that satisfies the torque command as limited by the direct axis current that corresponds to the maximum possible torque and the direct axis current that results in the minimum motor current.

    • Provided are a motor control apparatus and method. The motor control apparatus includes a power supply unit supplying power to a motor, a power device selectively blocking current supplied into the motor according to whether the current supplied from the power supply unit to the motor is above a reference current value, a control unit controlling an intensity of the current supplied from the power supply unit into the motor, and a load torque detection unit detecting a load torque generated in the motor when the motor is rotated. The control unit controls a maximum value of the current to be supplied into the motor so that the maximum value is less than the reference current value when the maximum value of the load torque detected by the load torque detection unit is above a maximum motor output due to the reference current value.

    • A damper system includes an electromagnetic damper 10 including: (i) an electromagnetic motor 46 which operates in association with motions of a sprung portion and an unsprung portion toward and away from each other; and (ii) an external circuit 90 which includes (A) a first connection passage CFEB in which an electric current is allowed to only flow from a first terminal 100 as one of two terminals of the motor 46 to a second terminal 102 as the other of the two terminals and (B) a second connection passage DFEA in which the electric current is allowed to only flow from the second terminal 102 to the first terminal 100.
