摘要： A method for saving power on a digital subscriber line (xDSL) includes: making statistics on data rates on the xDSL; adjusting the line rate and the transmit power on the xDSL according to the statistic results; and updating the line rate of an xDSL transceiver according to the adjusted line rate and transmit power. An apparatus for saving power on an xDSL includes a data rate statistics unit, a line rate adjustment policy unit, a line parameter adjusting unit, and a line rate updating unit for an xDSL transceiver. According to the invention the average transmit power of the xDSL line can be reduced effectively and energy can be saved.

摘要： Signals in an RF field, such as that of an MRl system, are communicated through an inner conductor having an outer shield with a dielectric material therebetween and an outer cable jacket. Current in the shield caused by the RF field from the transmit body coil is reduced by providing a second dielectric material around the shield conductor and a plurality of segmented shield conductor portions formed of non-magnetic braid or wrapped non-magnetic foil tape outside the second dielectric material and inside the jacket at spaced positions along the cable, with the portions being electrically separated from each other and from the shield so that the segmented shield conductor portions act to shield the outer shield conductor to reduce the generation of current thereon while the electrical separation of the segmented shield conductor portions each from the others prevents the generation of a current along the portions.

摘要： A system and method is disclosed for delivering controlled electrical power, and more specifically, a system and method for providing a continuous, reliable and inexpensive supply of utility and emergency power to a cable network for use by a plurality of active components in the network. The output side of the second voltage regulating means (27) supplies the predetermined voltage for operation of the active components in the network. At least one dedicated cable (23) for connecting the first voltage regulating means (100) to the second voltage regulating means (27) is provided.

摘要： A communication circuit enables protection against improper wiring and high speed data communication over long wiring distances using only three wires including the power supply lines. The communication circuit uses one of the two AC power supply lines for the common channel. On the parent station side a first constant current source and transmission photocoupler, a reception photocoupler, and a constant voltage diode are connected in series between the positive and negative reference side of the power source. On each child station, a circuit connecting a second constant current source and reception photocoupler in series with the reference line through a relay is parallel connected to a photocoupler disposed for shorting the relay output and reference line, and the relay goes on after the potential difference between the communication bus and the reference line goes below a specified level.
