    • A modular power-driven knife having an annular rotary blade (58), the structure of which knife can be varied through choice of standardized, i.e., compatible, components to accommodate different operators and different tasks. The components include plural elongated handles (54) to accommodate different sized hands; plural headpieces (52), each having a transmission for driving an annular rotary blade (58) and identical means by which any of the handles (54) are attachable in a first orientation, and each differently constructed to support a replaceable blade housing (56) of predetermined size and construction different from housings supported by other headpieces, including a construction for angling the blade housing (56) and blade relative to the extending handle (54); adjustable thumb supporting pieces (60) for the handles; handle adapters (64) to reposition the handles; pistol grip handles; drive cable casing connectors (62); and replaceable blade housings (56) securable to the headpieces (52) for supporting replaceable rotary annular blades (58). The modular construction is designed to allow adjustment between or among parts to accommodate different physiologies of users and different modes of use and different tasks for which the assembled knife may be used. The handles (54) provided for the modular knife are of improved shape that reduces unwanted areas of pressure concentration on the gripping hand while at the same time providing as firm a grip as possible for a given gripping force. A method of selecting the proper handle size is provided.

    • Die Erfindung betrifft ein Elektrowerkzeug (1) mit einer netzunabhängigen Stromversorgung, wobei das Elektrowerkzeug (1) ein Getriebe- bzw. Motorgehäuse (2) aufweist, das gleichzeitig als Handgriff (3) ausgebildet sein kann und an den sich ein weiterer Handgriff (4) anschließt. Gekennzeichnet ist die Erfindung dadurch, daß an jedem Ende (5,6) der Handgriffe (3,4) Koppelvor­richtungen zum Anstecken von Akku-Packs (7,8) vorgesehen sind. Dadurch wird erreicht, daß der Schwerpunkt des Akku- Geräts (1) so plaziert ist, daß die Handhabung wesentlich erleichtert wird. Als weiterer Vorteil erweist sich, daß der Bedienende seine Arbeit nicht unterbrechen muß, wenn ein Akku-Pack leer ist, sondern daß er durch Umschalten auf das zweiten Akku-Pack arbeiten kann.

    • The present invention relates to the field of tools and discloses a connecting device and a tool. The connecting device comprises: a connector, which has an inner cavity extending in a longitudinal direction, a tool end opening connected to the inner cavity and a latch opening connected to the inner cavity, the tool end opening being configured to allow a drive shaft of a tool head to pass through it into the inner cavity in the longitudinal direction; a latch, which is located in the inner cavity and is capable of moving between a locked position and an unlocked position, the latch comprising an engaging portion, which is configured to engage with a corresponding mating portion on the drive shaft entering the inner cavity in the locked position and is disengaged from the mating portion in the unlocked position; and a drive part, which is provided on the connector and is capable of being driven on the latch opening along the longitudinal direction to drive the latch to move. It can establish a secure connection of a tool head to the tool, mitigate incomplete or unreliable mechanical connection between the tool head and the tool, and reduce operational, performance and safety risks associated with the connection between the tool head and the tool.
