In the method for manufacturing a plugged honeycomb structure having a plugging portion formed in one opening end portion of each of predetermined cells of a cylindrical honeycomb structure including a plurality of cells partitioned and formed into a honeycomb shape by porous partition walls to form fluid passages, holes 3 of a perforated elastic porous member 2 are impregnated beforehand with a slurried plugging material 5, and the elastic porous member 2 is pressed on an end surface of the honeycomb structure 6 to thereby fill the slurried plugging material 5 filled into the holes of the elastic porous member 2 into cell 7 passages of the honeycomb structure 6 to form the plugging portions 7a.

摘要： There is provided a honeycomb structure having excellent thermal dispersibility upon heating and being effectively inhibited from being damaged due to thermal stress. The honeycomb structure includes: porous partition walls 3 disposed so as to form a plurality of cells 4 (4a and 4b) functioning as fluid passages of exhaust gas between two end faces and having a large number of pores, and plugging portions 7 disposed so as to alternately plug one of the open end portions 5 of each of the cells 4a and 4b on the two end faces. Additional plugging portions 8 are further disposed in open end portions (unplugged open end portions) having no plugging portion 7 disposed therein of the cells 4 in such a manner that the additional plugging portions 8 stop inflow of a part of the exhaust gas to the unplugged open end portions, and disposition length (L1) in an axial direction of the additional plugging portions 8 is different from disposition length (L2) in the axial direction of the plugging portions 7.

The polymeric filter material is substantially the same as the proton exchange member in the fuel cell. The ion gauge measures the level of ions in the fuel by measuring a voltage across a section of fuel or a current through the same section. 摘要： A lubrication system having an oil filter modified to replace or supplement the performance of lubricant additives that may be used within an internal combustion engine to increase the performance of a lubricant is described. Oil filter is a chemical filter that includes filtration media (24) which includes particles(30) including an internal pores (32) formed within individual particles and interstitial pores (34) formed between adjacent particles (30) wherein the internal pores (32) and the interstitial pores (34) collectively define filtration media pores and a strong base material is associated with at least some of the internal pores (32). The filtration media (24) has a surface area greater than or equal to 25 square meters per gram that is derived from filtration media pores that are large enough to receive a combustion acid-weak base complex contained within oil flowing through the chemical filter.
