The method includes: obtaining, by UE, signal quality of a first cell operating on a first transmission carrier frequency; when the UE determines that the signal quality of the first cell is higher than a preset threshold, and the UE receives first indication information sent by the first cell, selecting, by the UE, the first cell as a serving cell, where the first indication information is used to indicate that the first cell can control the UE to transmit device-to-device D2D service data on a second transmission carrier frequency, and the first transmission carrier frequency and the second transmission carrier frequency are located at different frequencies; and transmitting, by the UE, the D2D service data on the second transmission carrier frequency. This resolves a problem that a terminal cannot select a transmission carrier frequency located at a different frequency to transmit the D2D service data.

The automobile periphery information display system (1) detects situations around the own vehicle with a sensor device (3). A navigation device (2) specifies a current position and a travel direction of the own vehicle and reads map data of a peripheral region including the current position from a map database (2A). An object determination unit (7) detects existence of a detection object based on sensor information detected by the sensor device (3) and determines a category of the detection object.
